How LaunchLegal works

Use this guide to understand the dashboard, complete your profile, generate business-specific documents, review drafts, export files, and manage plan limits.

Getting started

  • When you sign up, LaunchLegal creates a workspace for your account and asks for your business name.
  • Your workspace contains one or more businesses depending on your plan. The active business selector in the sidebar controls which business the dashboard pages show.
  • Start in Business Profile, add the details you know, then save before generating documents.

Business Profile

  • Business details, legal entity details, contact emails, privacy contacts, payment rules, shipping details, cookie usage, data processing details, and security practices are used to prepare your documents.
  • Skipped or incomplete fields may appear as fallback wording such as not specified or to be confirmed in generated drafts.
  • If a document preview says it may not be shipment ready, update the missing profile fields and regenerate the document.

Documents

  • Use Generate All to create every selected document for the active business, or generate individual documents one at a time.
  • Use Regenerate after changing the Business Profile. Regeneration creates a new version based on the latest saved profile data.
  • Use View to load the latest generated version in the preview panel. Free-plan preview and copy output include LaunchLegal watermarking.

Version History

  • Each generated or regenerated document version is kept so you can compare previous outputs.
  • Preview lets you inspect an older version without changing the current document.
  • Restore creates a new latest version from the selected historical version, so the old record is preserved.

Export

  • Exports download as a folder-style ZIP when multiple documents or formats are selected.
  • Paid plans can export PDF, DOCX, HTML, Markdown, and React TSX component files where available.
  • Free users can export watermarked PDFs only. Paid plans remove LaunchLegal watermarks.

Settings

  • Settings lets you rename your workspace, send a password reset email, and manage subscription cancellation where available.
  • Subscription cancellation is scheduled through Stripe and usually keeps access until the current paid period ends.
  • For billing or account issues, contact support with your account email and workspace name.

Agency Starter

£29/month

Up to ten businesses, unlimited generation and regeneration, active business switching, and white-label exports.

Agency Pro

£79/month

Unlimited businesses, unlimited generation and regeneration, white-label exports, and the ability to delete/archive businesses. Team accounts and API access are future capabilities.

Troubleshooting

Common questions

A document says it may not be shipment ready

The preview contains incomplete fallback wording or placeholders. Update the Business Profile fields mentioned by the draft, save, and regenerate.

Generation is blocked

You may have reached a plan limit, selected a business without a complete profile, or tried to generate while another job is processing.

Stripe checkout succeeded but the plan did not update

Stripe webhooks must reach LaunchLegal before the dashboard updates. Refresh Billing after a short wait, then contact support if it still has not changed.

An export will not download

Refresh the Export page and try again. Signed download links expire, so older links may stop working.

I manage multiple businesses

Agency plans use the active business selector in the sidebar. Switch businesses there before editing profiles, generating documents, viewing versions, or exporting.

Review before using documents publicly

LaunchLegal generates drafts from the business and compliance information you provide. Check that each draft accurately reflects how your business operates, remove incomplete fallback wording, and seek professional legal advice where your situation is complex or regulated.
